Attended a screening of the poignant film, sponsored by OCA and met Cam Ashling and Helen Ho Kim of , leaders of a new nonprofit. AALAC is the first nonprofit law center devoted to protecting and promoting the civil, social and economic rights of Asian Americans in the Southeast. AALAC is looking for volunteers and sponsorships!

I met the at the Keeping It Wild Annual Gala. Their American and Black History enactments about the role of the Buffalo Soldiers in protecting and establishing the western frontier are inspiring and educational. Not to be missed.

GO, GO DEMOCRACY - is a fairly new nonprofit organization that (Asian American Pacific Islander) communities to participate in the electoral and public policy making processes. APIAVote is the only national institution focused on
voter mobilization and civic participation of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Community.

I won my first campaign for elective office as a newcomer and against an incumbent. Serving in local public office was one of the best learning experiences and an ideal way to make a difference! Go Vote. Run. Lead!
I was introduced to TWHP when I heard founder, Marie C. Wilson, speak on her first book tour about a decade ago. They are an excellent resource with on-the-ground workshops and campaign preparation training nationwide, including several upcoming events in Georgia.
