Stanford confronts Bamboo Ceiling for Asian Executives

Stanford confronts Bamboo Ceiling for Asian Executives

I led diversity and leadership development trainings 10 years ago and was hopeful that more progress had been made so that programs like this would be unnecessary. I’m glad that the gaps, challenges are recognized with resources and programs like Stanford’s.  INSTITUTIONAL bias, discrimination and privilege (vs. individual actions) are most persistent and deleterious but are often overlooked due to its “invisible” nature. Big kudos to Center for Work-Life Policy for validating the problem with stats and research.

Unsung Heroes, Memorial Day: Asian Pacific American Veterans

In honor of Asian Pacific Heritage Month and Memorial Day…Remember Asian Pacific American Veterans, many of whom are still unsung heroes in their 60′s, even 90′s. According to a recent U.S. Census release, there are 258,183 Asian military veterans, with about one in three veterans was 65 years and older (and this number does not include many multiracial Asian veterans).
