About Us

Ni Hao, Y’all!

COME EAT, SHOP AND LEARN WITH US!

Mother-daughter Chinese Southern Belles (and Atlanta natives), Natalie and Margaret, connect people, food and cultural learning for tasty, family-friendly fun. The entertaining duo enrich their events with Buddha-to-Bubba family stories from China to America’s Deep South and their passion for travel, diversity, healthy living and sustainability.

By sharing their tips and tales, Margaret and Natalie hope to add a fun fusion touch to the kitchen, a cross-cultural dimension to Atlanta’s immigrant history, and a shared sense of community through the celebration of food and culture. Their vision goes beyond cooking and good food, even though that’s always an enjoyable part. As Natalie says, “Opening minds, one mouth at a time!”

The company’s founder, Natalie Keng, grew up working in the family restaurant then graduated from Vassar College and the Harvard Kennedy School in Asian studies, multicultural relations and social policy, including serving five years in public office. Margaret Keng taught the area’s first Chinese cooking class, was a public school teacher for 17 years, traveled internationally as a business consultant and now is an award-winning realtor and avid fisherman.

Natalie is putting together a family history documentary and writing a series of books on food, culture and the Asian American experience. Visit the blog for new entries every week – product and food tips, event highlights and good resources. Sign up for the newsletter and send us your feedback and ideas. We’d love to hear from y’all!
